Entrepreneurs Kimmo and Satu Korkiakoski had been interested in precious metals, particularly gold and silver, and their recycling. Kimmo's father is a metalworker, which sparked Kimmo's interest in the metal industry from a young age. The family history in metals, Kimmo's background in IT and security, and Satu's expertise in banking provided a strong foundation for establishing the company.
The first day was a great surprise – there were even ten customers. This instilled confidence in the concept's viability. Soon, there were over twenty employees, and Jalonom team members served customers in local shops across Finland. The online store was launched in 2015, and the safe deposit box service in 2019.
